As the Kingdom readies for Ramadan, venues across the nation have begun to unveil their Ramadan programmes including sumptuous iftars and intriguing evening events, where residents are welcomed after a day of fasting and the city comes to life.

And one such Ramadan programme that has been announced, is that of Jeddah's Hayy Jameel.

Hayy Jameel is a vibrant arts complex and creative hub within Saudi Arabia, managed by Arts Jameel, the Jeddah location complements the Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai. Embodying the spirit of its name — with Hayy meaning 'neighbourhood' in Arabic — Hayy Jameel aims to be the heart of collaboration across various creative disciplines in one dedicated destination. Fostering a number of creatives and their unique outlets, Hayy Jameel features a museum Hayy Arts, a learning platform Hayy Learning, and Saudi’s first independent audiovisual centre Hayy Studios that hosts Hayy Cinema.

Now, for the first time, the creative location will host a Ramadan Market complete a full programme of events.

Acting as a community hub during the post-fast evenings, the Ramadan programme at Hayy Jameel will aim to satisfy the interests of everyone: from foodies to culture vultures, cinephiles and of course, art enthusiasts. Visitors will be treated to an extensive programme of workshops, film screenings, casual dining experiences, and even some shopping.

Over the course of four weeks, and 14 evenings, Hayy Jameel will cater to the interests of all ages and backgrounds, and showcase the works, creations and services of over 30 independent participants and collaborators.

Whether you're looking to re-energise, research, reflect, relax or rejuvenate, or just escape the house for an evening of family friendly activities, the Hayy Jameel Ramadan programme will include a number of interactive workshops, film screenings, games, talks, performances, sound bowl healing, poetry and storytelling sessions, a market and even a number of dedicated children’s activities and workshops to keep the little ones entertained.
