The inaugural Red Sea Fashion Week is set to redefine luxury, elegance, and cultural expression, positioning the Kingdom as a hub for artistic excellence and fashion.

Following the announcement in early April that Riyadh Fashion Week will return for a second edition this October, the Kingdom's interested fashionistas are gearing up for its second major fashion event with the exciting launch of Red Sea Fashion Week.

Organised by The Fashion Commission, this event is set to be the first of an annual series, aiming to showcase local creativity and innovation through the works and creations of promising fashion designers, bringing together a blend of traditional aesthetics and contemporary design.

Everything We Know So Far

Saudi 100 Brands, an initiative for fashion designers by the Fashion Commission will participate in the very first edition of the Red Sea Fashion Week, and a selection of international creatives will also showcase their designs and collections.

The anticipated fashion event promises to be a showcase of creativity, design and imagination, and will blend traditional aesthetics and design practices in wearable designs from a contemporary fashion week format. From high-end, luxury fashion brands to the exquisite craftsmanship of handmade jewellery, visitors will experience various forms of fashion and design from ready-to-wear and couture pieces, to resort collections and accessories.

When and Where

It’s time to mark you diaries and make sure you're available, as the Red Sea Fashion Week has been confirmed to take place in Jeddah over the course of three days from May 16 through to May 18.

The exact location of the event in Jeddah is yet to be confirmed.

The Kingdom's Promising Landscape for Fashionistas

As a dynamic and evolving landscape that reflects a blend of traditional influences and contemporary global trends, the fashion scene has been rapidly expanding in Saudi with a growing number of local designers making a mark on the international stage with initiatives that highlight Saudi 100 Brands including runway shows during Paris Fashion Week and Paris Couture Week, an exclusive exhibition in New York City, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Mexico, and a showroom in Milan.

Just last year in October, the Kingdom was introduced to the first ever Riyadh Fashion Week, which is due to make a comeback this year on October 17. Another event by the Fashion Commission is Fashion Futures, where international and local industry experts and fashion enthusiasts join to learn more about the industry through masterclasses and panel discussions.

The new addition of the Red Sea Fashion Week only serves as a testament to the vibrant future of fashion in the region, while marking Saudi designers on the global fashion map.
