The Founding Day holiday has arrived!
Celebrated on February 22 each year, Founding Day is the newest public holiday to be added to the Kingdom's calendar: marking the establishment of the first Saudi state over three centuries ago, in 1139 AH / 1727 CE by Imam Muhammad Bin Saud, Saudi celebrates the founding day of the Kingdom as we know it today.
A day (or rather weekend) filled with celebrations across the nation, local residents and visitors a like can expect a colourful array of events, poetry readings, bites of traditional cuisine, snippets of the rich history of the nation and of course, jaw-dropping fire work displays to top it all off.
