October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this designation is part of an international initiative started in 1985 by the American Cancer Society, and adopted by numerous cancer societies and charities around the world.
The month-long, annual initiative aims to increase public awareness about breast cancer; helping women to identify the symptoms, promoting early detection, and encouraging women to get regular mammograms. Many businesses around the world strive to create conversation on the topic: the world-wide initiative not only helps to raise funds for research and cancer care, but also spread awareness about this important health issue.
And this year, many coffee shops in Riyadh are getting on board, and have released a batch of delicious pink drinks, pink merchandise or flavourful pink-hued dishes to spread awareness and raise funds.
