Legendary Parisian bistro Benoit arrives in the Kingdom

Riyadh's culinary scene continues its global ascent, welcoming yet another prestigious international name to its burgeoning landscape. This time, it's the arrival of Benoit, a legendary Parisian bistro with a rich history dating back to 1912.

Opening its doors in the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) with a soft launch on April 17, Benoit's new Riyadh location promises to transport Saudi diners to the heart of classic French gastronomy and the streets of Paris.

Benoit's arrival in Riyadh further solidifies both the capital city and KAFD's position as a premier dining destination in Saudi. The district already boasts an impressive roster of international restaurants, from Chotto Matte and Kuuru to Il Baretto, and is set to welcome even more high-profile names like Mr Chow, SushiSamba, and Zuma.

Drawing inspiration from its iconic original location in Paris on Rue Saint-Martin, Benoit prides itself on its authentic French bistro spirit. Expect a visually stunning space adorned with intricate chandeliers, in addition to brass accents, elegant marble-like columns, walls adorned with paintings and black and white photos, all complemented by plush red velvet seating, and gorgeous hand-painted china.

The original Benoit location in Paris, founded by butcher Benoit Matray, quickly became a beloved haunt for socialites and traders alike, and the Riyadh outpost aims to capture that same convivial and sophisticated atmosphere.

The legacy of Benoit has been carefully passed down through generations, eventually leading to its acquisition by Maison Ducasse in 2005 under the Petit family's stewardship, and the guidance of the legendary Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse. Originally announced in August of 2023, this long-awaited opening has marked a new chapter of international expansion for Benoit, with successful ventures already thriving in New York and Tokyo. Now, Riyadh joins this esteemed list, offering Saudi Arabia a taste of timeless French culinary tradition.

If Benoit's Parisian menu is any indication, diners in Riyadh can anticipate a delectable array of French classics. Benoit's tagline, "At Benoit, drinking and feasting like kings," sets the stage for a truly indulgent experience. The proposed menu hints at a delightful journey through French flavours, with starters including the luxurious Chilled Blue Lobster, rich Duck Foie Gras, delicate Marinated Smoked Salmon, and the quintessential Snails in their Shells.

With the addition of the legendary Benoit, Riyadh's culinary scene is poised to offer an even richer and more diverse gastronomic experience, inviting residents and visitors alike to savour the timeless elegance and flavours of France.

Get ready to say "bon appétit" to a new era of fine dining in the capital.
