Aquarabia prepares to make a splash with grand opening this Eid

The wait for the Kingdom’s most ambitious aquatic destination is nearly over: Aquarabia, the Middle East’s largest water theme park, is officially slated to open its gates after Ramadan, to coincide with the Eid al-Fitr holidays in March 2026.

Fresh off the momentum of Six Flags Qiddiya City’s New Year’s Eve opening, the landscape of the Tuwaiq cliffs is evolving once again. Qiddiya is now set to double its appeal with the launch of Aquarabia, a massive water theme park that will further cement the new city’s status as the region's ultimate playground for both adults and kids.

About Aquarabia Qiddiya

Located in the heart of Qiddiya City, just 40 minutes from Riyadh, the sprawling waterpark represents yet another significant milestone in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, transforming the desert landscape into a global hub for the "Power of Play", whilst enticing tourists both at home and abroad to explore more of the Kingdom beyond the capital city of Riyadh, and well-known Red Sea port city of Jeddah

Although a specific date hasn't yet been confirmed for the expected grand opening in March 2026, Aquarabia stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s unrivalled tourism ambitions. Spanning 250,000 square meters, this isn't just another water park; it is a high-tech oasis designed to challenge world records and provide a year-round escape from the desert heat. By combining extreme sports, immersive Arabian storytelling, and sustainable engineering, Aquarabia is positioned to become the crown jewel of the Kingdom’s "Power of Play" strategy.

World-Record Thrills and Regional Firsts

Unlike traditional water parks, Aquarabia's design is rooted in a deep narrative inspired by the Arabian Peninsula's indigenous wildlife and ancient desert wellsprings. The park is divided into eight themed zones, such as Camel Rock, Viper Canyon, and Dub Grotto.

For those seeking a more exclusive experience, the park offers 81 luxury cabanas and 22 dining outlets, ensuring that relaxation is as much a priority as the thrills. Specialised areas like "The Den" provide a secluded retreat specifically designed for women and children to enjoy splash pads and soothing streams.

Spanning a massive 250,000 square meters, Aquarabia is designed to push the boundaries of aquatic entertainment. The park will feature 22 rides and attractions, including five world-record-breaking experiences that cater to adrenaline seekers and families alike:

  • The World’s Tallest Water Coaster: A high-speed journey featuring uphill blasts and gravity-defying drops.
  • The World’s Tallest Drop Body Slide: A 12-story vertical plunge for the bravest visitors.
  • Junoon Drop: Billed as a record-breaking mat racer that spans over 200 meters.
  • Surftopia: The Kingdom’s first inland surf pool, capable of generating waves up to two meters high for surfers of all skill levels.
  • Aquaticar: A world-first underwater adventure ride where guests pilot fully submersible vehicles through a mystical "glowing" reef.

The Growth of Qiddiya as an Entertainment Hub

The expected launch of Aquarabia in March 2026, follows the inauguration of its neighbouring entertainment destination, Six Flags Qiddiya City. Together, these two parks form the anchor of Qiddiya’s first phase of development. In line with various pillars of Vision 2030, the two destinations have the projected creation of 10,000 direct and indirect jobs, the opening marks the beginning of Qiddiya’s journey toward becoming a top-five global tourism destination.
