Noor Riyadh is a captivating annual light and art festival that illuminates the city of the Kingdom's capital city each year.
Launched in March 2021, Noor Riyadh will return to Riyadh this winter, from November 28 through to December 14, with the exhibit and showcase focussing on creations, animations and art that embrace the futuristic and celestial theme of 'Light Years Away.'
The showcase is considered the largest light art festival of its kind in the world, showcasing a stunning array of light-based installations and artworks from both local and international artists, and last year even included a massive, illuminated drone show over the capital's skyline.
The festival features a diverse collection of light art installations, including sculptures, light shows, immersive experiences, kinetic art, and outdoor displays. As one of the most unique, artistic exhibits pivoting on the shared theme of light, Noor Riyadh attracts artists from around the world, showcasing the diversity and creativity of the global art scene.
In addition to the light art installations, Noor Riyadh offers a rich public program, including educational workshops, talks, and performances. Each year the festival invites hundreds of local students from schools around the capital to learn more and become enchanted by the works.
In addition to this, Noor Riyadh also invites budding creatives to shadow the showcasing artists, learning about the creative processes involved in an exhibit like this. Known as the Noor Riyadh Apprenticeship Program, this is an open-call application opportunity for anyone interested, and applications are open until October 15. Apply here.
