Football mega-star Cristiano Ronaldo has shared a stunning video of Saudi Arabia with his millions of Twitter followers just days after saying the Red Sea is his "second home".
The 39-year-old moved to the Kingdom with his family last year to play for the Al Nassr club and has since become one of Riyadh's most famous residents.
Since then, he has been spotted exploring some of the city's top restaurants and exploring cultural sites like AlUla — and now he has posted Visit Saudi's new tourism campaign 'This Land is Calling' on X (formerly known as Twitter), amassing more than 46 million views in just days.
The film was well received by Ronaldo's 112 million followers, with one saying he had turned Saudi Arabia into "the most famous Asian country in the world" and another adding: "As soon as we get the visa, we will definitely come to visit."
The video follows a heroine who lands in an unexplored territory, challenging her preconceptions of the country. Dressed in futuristic attire, the woman embarks on a journey through Saudi Arabia's diverse landscapes — from lush green mountains and oases to futuristic structures and sparkling turquoise waters.
It comes after Ronaldo described Saudi Arabia as a "lovely country" and praised the Kingdom's "beautiful" Red Sea coast, where he stayed with his family earlier this year.
In an interview with fellow footballer Rio Ferdinand posted last week, he said: "I am really happy to be there. It is a lovely country — I love to be there, my family loves to be there. The adaptation for me wasn’t too difficult. The Red Sea, which is my second home, is unbelievable — like a diamond."
Ronaldo's hotel of choice — The St. Regis Red Sea Resort — officially opened its doors in January 2024, welcoming its first guests to experience the beauty of Ummahat Island.
Perched on a secluded archipelago that borders the famous Blue Hole atoll off the coast of Red Sea, there are just 90 exclusive and private villas in resort, making it the ideal getaway for celebrities and those seeking serenity alike.
In several videos posted on YouTube, previously Ronaldo showcased the beauty of the destination, saying he recommends "the whole world visit that amazing, amazing place". The clips showed the incredible natural landscapes of the region, the luxury accommodation and scenery that rivals that of the Maldives and Bora Bora.
