The fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) is in full swing.
Taking place between December 4 to 13, the festival celebrates the best of local, regional and international cinema, and the event has firmly established itself as a major nexus of global film. With a variety of events, lectures and interactive sessions taking place, and throughout the festival, visitors can sit in on diverse program of candid, up-close sessions grants audiences the rare opportunity to absorb unvarnished wisdom straight from the creative visionaries.
On Wednesday, December 10, two of the industry's most respected names, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba, are confirmed to participate in the highly anticipated "In Conversation" sessions. These "In Conversation" sessions are a cornerstone of the festival's program, offering accredited guests and film lovers a unique opportunity to hear directly from celebrated actors and filmmakers as they share profound insights into their craft, careers, and creative journeys.
Sir Anthony Hopkins, the Academy Award-winning legend renowned for his profound performances, will lend his immense experience to the stage, offering perspectives forged over decades in film, theatre, and television. On the same day, the famed Hannibal Lecter actor will be joined the multi-talented and multi-hyphenate British star Idris Elba. Elba's career spans a diverse array of creative fields including acting, producing, and moonlighting as a very popular DJ, cementing his reputation as one of the most versatile forces in contemporary entertainment.
Following his 'In Conversation' session, Elba is also slated to present a screening of his new short film, Dust To Dreams.
The inclusion of these global heavyweights — who join other announced guests like Nicholas Hoult, Riz Ahmed and Darren Aronofsky — reflects the festival’s commitment to bringing world-class talent to Saudi Arabia. Held amidst the charming and ancient architecture of Al Balad, these masterclasses underscore the RSIFF's growing role in fostering cinematic excellence and bridging cultures through the shared passion of storytelling.
