Framed by the 200-metre cliffs of the Tuwaiq Mountains, the newly opened National Golf Club at Qiddiya City brings a Sir Nick Faldo–designed championship layout to the Kingdom's rapidly evolving golfing landscape.
Opening its doors on October 30, 2026, the 18-hole championship venue anchors the luxury sports ecosystem of Qiddiya City, located approximately 45 kilometres from Riyadh. Announced in 2025, and designed by six-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo, the course combines high-level athletic challenge with dramatic topographical features carved directly into the landscape.
The National Golf Club is positioned within the cliffside landscape of the Tuwaiq Mountains, offering views framed by 200-metre rock formations. Built to international tournament specifications, the 18-hole layout incorporates natural elevation changes, strategic hazard placements, and expansive fairway corridors designed to accommodate both elite touring professionals and amateur enthusiasts. The venue is expected to attract over 200,000 visitors annually.
Under a five-year management agreement, Golf Saudi oversees operation of the venue, ensuring world-class agronomy, high-tier hospitality, and sustainable water management practices adapted to the desert environment. In line with Qiddiya’s broader mandate for sports development, the club serves as a host venue for the Faldo Series, helping nurture local Saudi golfing talent.
Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Aldawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, said: “Qiddiya City’s partnership with Sir Nick Faldo in designing a new golf course and becoming global partner of the Faldo Series underscores our commitment to growing the game of golf and nurturing the next generation of Saudi golfers.”
In July 2025, Sir Nick Faldo, commented on the partnership by saying: “This is a unique opportunity to become involved in one of the most exciting cities being developed today where a new way of city life is fused together with sport, entertainment and culture. Our partnership with Qiddiya City brings together the golf community with a whole nation bubbling with energy to be active and try new sports.”
Beyond the fairways, the venue features a modern, green-roofed clubhouse designed by Pattersons, seamlessly integrated into three distinct hubs. The Golf Clubhouse anchors the facility with refined player lounges, premium dining outlets, and a dedicated retail pro-shop. Nearby, the Social Wellness Hub caters to post-round relaxation with comprehensive health and fitness suites, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and dedicated wellness spaces, while the high-tech Golf Academy equips players of all skill levels with state-of-the-art practice facilities, an advanced driving range, and personalised coaching studios.
Unlike traditional private golf facilities, The National Golf Club operates on an inclusive, open-access model. No membership is required to play, allowing local residents, regional visitors, and international tourists to book tee times directly.
