Tennis champion, and the current PIF WTA World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka has officially secured her place at the 2025 WTA Finals in Riyadh.
Following her success in a number of tournaments this year, including her current smashing performances at the ongoing Wimbledon Championships in London, the Belarusian athlete is set to return for a fifth year in a row at the WTA’s season-ending showcase.
Following her her quarterfinal victory at Wimbledon, capping off a dominant first half of the season, Sabalenka was confirmed as the first player to qualify for the prestigious season-ending tournament, which is once again planned to be hosted in the Kingdom's capital city of Riyadh.
Sabalenka has been in exceptional form throughout 2025, reaching seven finals and capturing titles in Brisbane, Miami, and Madrid. The world class athlete has also finished runner-up at the Australian Open, Indian Wells, Stuttgart, and Roland Garros. With over 6,600 points in the PIF Race to the WTA Finals, she leads the standings by a wide margin.
This marks her fifth consecutive appearance at the WTA Finals. The 2025 edition will once again be held at the King Saud University Indoor Arena in Riyadh, following the tournament’s successful debut in the Kingdom in 2024.
The WTA Finals Riyadh, presented by PIF, is one of the most prestigious events in women’s tennis, featuring the top eight singles players and doubles teams of the season. Last year’s event drew global attention and record-breaking viewership, signalling a new era for the sport in the region.
With Sabalenka now confirmed, the race is on for the remaining seven singles spots. The tournament is scheduled to take place in November, already promises to be a showcase of elite talent and high-stakes competition.
