Tennis legend and Grand Slam record holder, Novak Djokovic was in Riyadh this week participating in the much-anticipated 6 Kings Slam tennis exhibition

Not that he needs much of an introduction, Novak Djokovic, often referred to as "Nole," is a Serbian professional tennis player, who has been widely regarded by many in the sporting industry as one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

At 37, Novak Djokovic's exceptional talent and competitive spirit are the attributes that have propelled him to the top of the tennis world. Dominating the sport for many years, and with more to come, Djokovic is a record-breaking player with an impressive 24 Grand Slam titles to his name, and more than 100 singles titles to boot. 

Despite crashing out of the 6 Kings Slam in Riyadh last week during the semi-finals, the all-time tennis great, Novak Djokovic told us at List that he was looking forward to exploring more of what the Kingdom has to offer.

With a self-described interest in and enthusiasm for local history and culture, Djokovic said he was keen to discover the traditions and authentic experiences Saudi Arabia has to offer, he said, "I like to get to know the core and the essence of a country." 

This interest in history is also evident from the sports star's latest Instagram posts: Djokovic took to social media to document and share his visit to Saudi's UNESCO World Heritage Site of Diriyah and At-Turaif. 

Both Jeddah and the Red Sea region are on Djokovic's Saudi Arabian bucketlist.

"I heard that AlUla is one of the (country's) epicentres of history, so I would love to go there as well." Seemingly already planning another trip to the Kingdom, the tennis legend said that he hope he can come visit again whether he is playing tennis or not: “It's a big country that you have, a lot of beautiful places.”

Telling us that he has been welcomed by the Saudi people warmly, and as a friend, he said he found genuine "human connection" on his visit to the Kingdom.
