Slightly set back from the main Park Lane thoroughfare and away from the traffic, the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane is within steps of all the action, but far enough removed (and soundproofed) to ensure guests are provided with a sense of welcomed seclusion and calm, despite its placement in the very heart of the capital city.
The ideal location for a steal-away weekend in the capital, or even a long stay for the whole family, is undoubtedly the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, offering an unrivalled combination of polished service and a prime Mayfair setting right next to Hyde Park, creating a luxurious 'home away from home' style stay that is perfect for both romantic festive escapes and extended family adventures.

The Four Seasons London at Park Lane is the ultimate Mayfair address, delivering timeless elegance, Michelin-starred dining, and a stunning rooftop spa, all defined by highly personalised service and an exceptional location steps from Hyde Park and Knightsbridge shopping.
The Location
Today, Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane stands a quintessential five-star address in the British capital city, strategically located at the intersection of Mayfair and Knightsbridge, the hotel embodies the brand's legacy of excellence. This positioning is a key advantage for international visitors, granting instant access to London's most famous sites and shopping districts.
The hotel sits right on the edge of the two Royal Parks, Hyde Park and Green Park, offering immediate access for strolls or jogging. For retail enthusiasts, the luxury boutiques of Bond Street (Mayfair) and the world-famous department stores of Harrods and Harvey Nichols (Knightsbridge) are all within easy walking distance. Furthermore, cultural landmarks like Buckingham Palace and the West End theatres are only a short distance away.
Getting There
For international visitors, London is served by several major airports, with Heathrow (LHR) and Gatwick (LGW) offering the most direct and efficient connections to the hotel.
From Heathrow, the most comfortable option is a private car or taxi, with a travel time of 45 to 90 minutes depending on traffic; however, the fastest route is the Heathrow Express train, which reaches Paddington Station in just 15 minutes, followed by a short taxi or tube ride.
From Gatwick, the Gatwick Express runs directly to Victoria Station in about 30 minutes, leaving a short final transfer to the hotel. Public transport is highly accessible, as the nearest major stations, Hyde Park Corner (Piccadilly Line, connecting directly to LHR) and Green Park (Jubilee, Victoria, and Piccadilly Lines), are only a five-minute walk away.
Given the hotel's commitment to discretion and high-end service, many international guests opt to utilise the hotel’s pre-arranged house car or a private chauffeur for a seamless, stress-free transfer directly to the Mayfair entrance, taking away any sense of stress from your stay from before you even arrive.
The Background
The Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane holds a unique and foundational place in the history of the entire Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts brand.
It originally opened in 1970 as The Inn on the Park, serving as the true prototype for what Four Seasons founder Isadore Sharp envisioned for modern luxury hospitality. At a time when grand hotels were often seen as stuffy and formal, Sharp sought to create a new model focused on personalised service, comfort, and an elegant, home-like experience. The London location was instrumental in launching several standards that are now global: it was one of the first hotels to offer bathrobes in every room, introduce 24-hour in-room dining (room service), and solidify the Four Seasons philosophy of intuitive, personalised service.
Following several shifts in ownership, the hotel temporarily closed in 2008 to undergo an extensive, multi-year, £125 million redevelopment, officially reopening in 2010/2011. This transformation, overseen by interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon and architect Eric Parry, redefined the current look of Four Season Hotel at Park Lane, blending timeless 1930s-inspired glamour with modern needs. And in October 2025, it was confirmed that the luxury hotel retained its prestigious Three Michelin Keys.
The Guests & Ambiance
Its that indescribable feeling of being in home away from home defines the Four Seasons Hotel at Park Lane.
Here, the atmosphere is a formidable blend of comfort and elegance: wide blazing fireplaces cast a cozy glow and embody the warmth of the hotel, the sultry signature seasonal scent drifts through the lobby, and your eye is instantly drawn to the jaw-dropping floral arrangement that has become synonymous with a visit to any Four Seasons property. This feeling is compounded by the this consistent warmth of the staff, from the friendly faces of the doormen, and that hearty "it's great to see you again" that truly welcomes you home.
During my stay, the clientele reflected the hotel's uniquely global appeal. The other guests ranged from American families exploring the city and Europeans leveraging the Park Lane location as their continental base, to business travellers seeking a welcome sanctuary. Crucially, its prime location and the consistency of the Four Seasons brand, the hotels positioning close to the Saudi Arabian embassy, meant that the the GCC market was also well-represented.

The Suite
I stayed in the Hyde Park Suite, Room 902 on the 9th floor. With sweeping views over Hyde Park, this suite felt less like a temporary hotel stay and more like a private, Mayfair apartment - making for a sensational base for a London stay. The large corner suite truly capitalises on the hotel's prime location, offering a serene, light-filled sanctuary high above the city's bustle, in the form of the 'Glass Lounge'.
The suite's interior design is a masterclass in classic elegance meets modern comfort, the open plan living space is swathed in neutral and natural hues, from off-white to beige and pops of precious stone such as yellow tourmaline and jade. Matched with marble and textured gold elements, the living area feels both bright and contemporary, whilst also feeling cosy.
The generous floor plan extends beyond the living space, and into the guest powder room. Despite its petit half-bath size, this bathroom packs a punch with visually striking palm print wallpaper, coupled with a high gloss black lacquer vanity. Accents of golden chrome add an additional layer to this quirky delight, in what is a very straight-laced suite.
The room is specifically oriented to maximise natural light and ensure the park's greenery feels like an extension of the space. It centres around the signature Four Seasons custom-designed bed, known for its extreme comfort, plush, premium linens, and luxurious headboard. Connected to both a walk-in wardrobe and dressing area and the main, spacious marble master bathroom, enhances the feeling of a self-contained, high-end private residence.
Every detail, from the fully-equipped marble bathroom with Toto toilets and luxury bathrobes to the latest in-room technology like the 65-inch LG OLED TV and universal bedside chargers, speaks to the signature Four Seasons commitment to refined, five-star luxury, making for an experience that felt both supremely comfortable and effortlessly exclusive.
The Dining
Dining at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane is an experience meticulously curated under the guidance of MICHELIN-starred Chef Yannick Alléno.
The signature destination is Pavyllon London, which presents the refined British interpretation of Alléno’s contemporary French cuisine. This one MICHELIN-starred venue moves beyond formality; guests have the option of dining at a chef's counter (which I would highly recommend!), offering us a lively, direct view into the kitchen's operation — we found this to be a truly engaging alternative to a traditional table setting.
Beyond dinner, Pavyllon elevates the start of every day with an equally sophisticated, MICHELIN-worthy breakfast service. Here guests can indulge in a menu offering a selection of eggs, full breakfasts, yoghurt, and sweet, dessert style breakfast dishes, alongside freshly made pastries and pressed juices.
Adjacent to the main restaurant is Bar Antoine, which acts as the spirited social hub of the hotel. This is Chef Alléno’s first dedicated bar concept, and it serves as a high-end Mayfair gathering spot. For lighter bites and all-day dining options, the Pavyllon Lounge is an airy space with towering ceilings and an oversized fireplace, its here where guests can sit back and read the newspaper, grab a coffee or a quick lunch, or enjoy the hotel's classic, elegant afternoon tea service.
If you don't fancy leaving the room, lean into the privacy of the luxurious guest rooms with exceptional 24-hour in-room dining.

Wellness & Spa
The Spa is a true urban sanctuary that sits above the tree tops. Unlike many central London hotel spas that are often hidden away in subterranean spaces, the entire wellness and fitness area takes up the top, tenth floor of the property. This sky-high positioning offers guests a rare treat in the city: 360-degree skyline views of London that sweep across Mayfair, Knightsbridge, and the auburn foliage of Hyde Park, truly living up to the architect's concept of an "aerial spa."
The design focuses on soft living, tranquility and natural light. Split into two separate spa spaces, one for women, and another for men, you'll find a rejuvenating salt-wall sauna, a eucalyptus steam room, and a quiet and relaxing vitality pool. The full-service treatment menu includes nine rooms and specialized programs, all using high-end product lines. For the ultimate indulgence, the Sky Suite is a private spa within the spa, boasting its own double steam shower and relaxation area, perfect for a secluded retreat high above the bustling city.
The Staff
The staff at Four Seasons London at Park Lane know service, and ensure that every element of your stay is catered to.
During my stay, the standard of service was seamlessly exceptional, starting the moment I arrived; the doormen were incredibly kind and welcoming, greeting every guest with genuine warmth and efficiency, always ready with a smile, a taxi or for us, advice on how many layers to wear in the November chill! This seamless attention continued inside, where Antonio at check-in was very helpful, navigating the process with ease. When checking out, I even overheard the concierge going above and beyond calling numerous hair salons to find a specific brand of hair extensions that a guest had requested.
Its this blend of polished professionalism and personal friendliness truly defines the five-star experience, and ultimately sets Four Seasons London at Park Lane further ahead of the competition.
How would you describe it to a friend?
Here old-school glamour reins but also feels completely fresh and current. On the edge of where Mayfair meets the parks, you step out the door and you're surrounded by high-end shopping on one side and beautiful green spaces on the other, but the hotel itself is incredibly quiet and private. The whole place just oozes sophistication, from the stunning flower displays in the lobby to the chic lounge, and honestly, the service level is next-level.
