Saudi's newest luxury resort is set to make waves in the nation's hospitality sector: say hello to the Kingdom's first lavish resort to be carved into sheer rock face of the desert - Desert Rock Resort.
Set to welcome its first guests of December 15, Saudi's new Desert Rock Resort is located inland yet still close to the Red Sea coast. The first of the mountainous resorts to open, the hotel has officially opened reservations.
Guests can now book into luxurious cave hideaways perched high among 30,000 square metres of rugged mountain terrain, taking in spectacular views of the surrounding valleys from their own private pools.
Although overnight rates begin from SAR8,500 per night for a one-bedroom Wadi Villa, which the hotel describes as "a tranquil oasis for relaxation and fun", and range up to SAR100,000 for the Royal Villa tucked away in a "completely private part of the valley", the opening-week stay conditions require guests to book a minimum of a 5 night stay at Desert Rock Resort.
The Desert Rock Resort is also offering once-off stay experience, aptly entitled, Be Among The First to Experience Desert Rock. This offer invites guests to be amongst the first to stay at the resort and bask in the grandeur of Desert Rock. The grand opening offer invites guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of the desert - with a buy two nights, and get one free offer. The offer also includes a daily breakfast.
There is also a couple's package includes complimentary dinner, a 60-minute spa treatment, daily breakfast and private car transfers (all for two).
Just a 30-minute drive from Red Sea International Airport, the ultra-exclusive resort will offer just 54 villas and 10 suites, all with private butlers who can unlock access to adrenaline-fuelled adventures, desert discoveries and dining experiences beneath the starry skies.
Similar to the launch offers seen at the overwater Shebara resort, two-night bookings will come with a third night free plus daily breakfast for two.
Booking your stay 45 days or more before arrival will net you a 20% saving on the villa rate, while all bookings are currently priced at 10% off.
Restaurants at Desert Rock
The Red Sea Global resort – which features interiors that have been excavated from the rock and undisrupted views of the dramatic desert landscape – boasts six restaurants and dining spaces.
At Nyra, led by renowned farm-to-table chef Osman Sezener, the open kitchen showcases traditional smoking and curing methods alongside innovative protein-aging techniques, resulting in a menu rich in flavour and texture that celebrates the bounty of land and sea.
Over at Mica, you'll find innovative mocktails and small plates celebrating the resort's natural setting at tables spread around fire pits, while Basalt serves healthy breakfast first thing in the morning followed by modern Indian cuisine throughout the day.
Chic poolside dining spot Wadi brings Peruvian flavours, live DJ sets and relaxed vibes, or for a more relaxing day retreat to the library for speciality coffees and healthy salads — all with peaceful views over the mountains.
By reservation only, The Observatory is a "secret sanctuary" for mocktails, gourmet pastries and stargazing late into the evening.
Spa and Wellness at Desert Rock
Located at the foot of the mountain with eight treatment rooms including a private hammam and rhassoul chamber, the resort spa features steam showers, state-of-the-art Gharieni equipment and private outdoor terraces.
The Desert Rock Signature Ritual begins with a one-on-one yoga session to cleanse the chakras, followed by a cellular gold exfoliation to resurface the skin texture and a warm rhassoul body mask to nourish and hydrate.
