Sending ripples of excitement through the luxury travel sector, the Kingdom's most anticipated new airline, Riyadh Air has officially confirmed its commercial takeoff date, accelerating its eagerly anticipated timeline.
Driven by the early delivery of its brand-new, custom-built fleet, the airline has moved up its inaugural commercial flight to London Heathrow to June 10, 2026 — bypassing its original July 1 launch date. Even ahead of their take off, the modern fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners have become instantly recognisable with the bold indigo and lavender livery.

Helmed by aviation industry veteran CEO Tony Douglas, the boutique mega-carrier is moving from a meticulously planned blueprint to a tangible reality. The arrival of the carrier's third factory-new aircraft in the Kingdom just this past Sunday has solidified its operational readiness, signalling the start of a multi-phased network expansion designed to reshape how the global elite traverse the skies.
The Launch Network: Routes & Confirmed Dates
Riyadh Air’s initial flight schedule represents a highly strategic blend of regional dominance and vital international cultural and economic capitals. The carrier’s new routes are specifically chosen to bridge the gap between Riyadh and the world’s most prominent tourism and financial hubs, with the airline promising that even more destinations will join the network in the coming weeks.
This initial footprint serves as the foundational stepping stone for Riyadh Air's grand vision: leveraging its fleet to connect the Saudi capital to more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030, structurally supporting the Kingdom's broader economic goal to welcome 150 million annual visitors by the turn of the decade.

High Flying Expectations
Riyadh Air's onboard experience has been purposely designed and engineered to challenge the monopoly of legacy premium carriers. Configured into a thoughtful layout, the aircraft features a highly exclusive four-class cabin system: Business Elite, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy.
Business Elite, on board Riyadh Air has been billed as a near-First Class experience, this cabin utilises a spacious 1-2-1 configuration of Safran Unity seats. In this flight class, guests can expect fully flat beds stretching 78 inches, private privacy doors, and cinematic 32-inch 4K in-flight entertainment screens — the largest in its class. This is in addition to custom designed amenity kits, pyjamas and culturally immersive welcome rituals. Even Premium Economy passengers will receive an in-flight amenities kit, a clear step into providing a luxe experience at all levels.
Every touchpoint on board (and on the ground) is underpinned by the Saudi 'Hafawa' — the traditional concept of deep-rooted Arabian hospitality. This philosophy translates into curated culinary menus, personalised concierge-style service from the cabin crew, and high-end amenity kits sourced from global luxury collaborations. Even the Riyadh Air lounge has been named the Hafawa Lounge, underscoring the importance of this cultural concept for the brand as a whole, from the very beginning of the journey to the end.
