Saudia’s Flight Pass subscription aims to stabilise costs for frequent travellers

As the Kingdom becomes increasingly connected to more local and international destinations, in addition to the much-anticipated public launch of Riyadh Air, the landscape of domestic air travel in Saudi Arabia is undergoing a significant transformation.

And now Saudia, the national airline, is further contributing to this developing connectivity with the introduction of a new subscription service: Flight Pass.

Officials announced the launch of this new travel scheme in November 2025, arrives amidst a considerable surge in domestic travel across the Kingdom, fuelled by major national initiatives such as Riyadh Season, Jeddah Season, and the growing calendar of sports and cultural events.

What is Flight Pass?

Flight Pass is a new scheme allows frequent flyers to secure a predetermined number of domestic trips at discounted, fixed prices for an entire year.

The Saudia Flight Pass scheme operates on a principle of advance commitment for predictable value. Travellers select a specific domestic city pair — such as Riyadh to Jeddah or Dammam to Abha — and then pre-purchase a bundle of 8, 16, or 24 one-way economy flights. A one-way trip consumes a single allowance from the bundle, while a round trip uses two.

This structure is designed to provide cost-effective flight options for regular Saudia passengers, allowing subscribers to easily budget for travel and avoid the uncertainty of dynamic pricing fluctuations. This new subscription model is applicable to all direct domestic routes except Dawadmi, Rafha, Neom, and Red Sea airports.

For passengers that select the quarterly payment plan, any unused trips will expire at the end of each quarter. However for travellers who opt for one-time payment plans, unused trips won't expire at the end of the 12-months period.

Flexibility and Payment Structure

The Saudia Flight Pass is valid for 12 months from the date the first payment is made. Subscribers have the flexibility to pay for the annual subscription either upfront or through a recurring quarterly payment plan, with promotional quarterly prices starting from SAR 349.

The discounts offered are substantial.  Prices are also dependent on the number of flights a passenger takes in one quarter period; with the promotional price two economy trips a quarter (or one return trip) starts from SAR 349, whilst four economy trips a quarter (or two return trips) starts from SAR 699, again this is promotional launch price.

For instance, a passenger committing to 24 one-way trips annually between Riyadh and Jeddah would pay SAR 6,549. This reduces the price per one-way flight to approximately SAR 273, which is significantly lower than typical Guest Basic fares that can fluctuate widely between SAR 350 and SAR 600.

While these prices are inclusive of VAT, it is important to note that airport taxes are not included in the subscription fee and are charged separately during checkout.

Convenient and Practical - The Details

A core feature of the service is its focus on convenience and affordability for frequent travellers on domestic flights, particularly those flying for business.

Once a pass is activated, passengers can book flights up to three days before departure. While the flights are fixed to a single city pair, subscribers maintain the flexibility to modify or cancel bookings. Refunded values from cancellations are credited back to the Flight Pass account, ensuring the subscription's value is retained. Change fees start at SAR 250 plus VAT, while cancellations incur a fee of SAR 400 plus VAT.

For customer protection, Saudia offers a seven-day grace period after subscription signup during which a cancellation can be processed without penalty, provided no ticket has yet been issued under the plan. However, the subscription can be cancelled at any time, but penalties and forfeits of payment may apply.

The Flight Pass covers the vast majority of Saudia’s domestic network, with only a handful of exceptions including airports at Dawadmi, Neom, Rafha, and the Red Sea. Subscriptions must be purchased directly through the airline's dedicated Flight Pass website, and the site accepts payment via Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.
