The nation's largest sporting competition is set to return this year after a successful first edition

The Saudi Games is the nation’s largest sporting event, and the second edition has been confirmed to take place later this year.

Thousands of Saudi Arabian athletes will participated in the competition, which is planned to take place from November 26 to December 10 of this year.

The inaugural Saudi Games took place in Riyadh in the last quarter of 2022: October 27 to November 7, 2022.

Supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, the Saudi Games play an integral part in encouraging the nation’s youth to come together through practicing and participating in sports.

In the 2022 inaugural edition of The Saudi Games, athletes competed in forty-five different sports such as basketball, volleyball, squash, athletics, weightlifting, jujitsu, boxing, swimming and even triathlon. The events were held in over twenty different venues throughout the capital city.  

More than 6000 athletes participated in The Saudi Games 2022, these athletes represented 200 nationwide sports clubs across various different disciplines.

The Opening Ceremony included a short documentary that was commissioned by The Saudi Games committee, incredible fireworks display whilst the participating athletes made their way into the venue, this was followed by the raising of The Saudi Games flag. Internationally renowned DJ, David Guetta also performed at memorable Opening Ceremony at King Fahd International Stadium.

With all this in mind, we’re already looking forward to the second edition of The Saudi Games starting in November 2023.
