With three months still left of the Riyadh Season 2023/24 celebrations, the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA) announced that visitor numbers have entirely surpassed those of previous editions.

Over 15 million people from around the globe have already visited the zones of Riyadh Season to partake in the festivities and celebrations, with more than 5 million people visiting in the first month alone.

The fourth edition of Riyadh Season has already hosted a number of concerts, introduced several new season zones and has been the location of a number of internationally renowned sporting events. In December, modern boxing legends Anthony Joshua, Deontae Wilder and Sanchez Fa, all took part in the 'Day of Reckoning' bout.

The inaugural event of Riyadh Season 2023, the Battle of the Baddest took place at the brand-new Kingdom Arena in October, where the world watched on as the World Boxing Championship Heavyweight champion of the world, the unbeaten Tyson Fury took on the skilled, mixed martial arts expert, Francis Ngannou.

And now, the still undefeated champion, Fury is set to take on another multi-titled world champion boxer, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. Originally slated to take place this month, the match was postponed after Fury sustained an open wound above his eye, whilst sparring in preparation for the fight.

The event, named 'Ring of Fire' will now take place on May 18.

Chairman of the GEA, Turki Alalshik has been heavily involved in the development and production of this season's sporting events, from a number of football matches to the tennis tournaments and of course, the now numerous boxing bouts that have graced the ring at the purpose-built Kingdom Arena stadium.

Just this month Alalshik unveiled the boxing belt that is up for grabs at the Ring of Fire event. Adding further excitement to the head-to-head clash between the two international champions, the belt is emblazoned with the words 'Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion'. Not only is an impressive title on the line, the belt itself is a luxurious mix of gold, red and black leather.
