The Holy Month of Ramadan began on Monday March 11, and this date also marked the return of the Kingdom-wide 'Ramadan Season' for a second edition.

Occurring in the ninth month of the Hijri calendar, Ramadan Season, aims to honour Saudi culture, Islamic traditions, and local heritage, and the 2024 edition will feature a variety of markets, communal spaces, and workshops, offering families an opportunity to explore and engage in post-Iftar activities.

According to Instagram, there will be event areas set up at the Dammam waterfront, in Jeddah's historic AlBalad district, and on one of the oldest streets in Riyadh, Al-Thumairi Street.

Manarah Art & Craft

Manarah Art & Craft will offer visitors an interactive and educational experience through hands-on workshops with creative experts: these workshops aim to create offer visitors a creative outlet during the month of Ramadan.

Al Thuraya Dining

Al-Thuraya Dining presents a fully-rounded and traditional dining experience for both Iftar and Suhoor, gathering families and friends around the table to share a meal. The menu represents the rich and delicious dishes of traditional Saudi cuisine.

Al Siraj

This zone highlights the Kingdom's efforts in caring for the Quran through multiple interactive stations: Quran Calligraphy, Sculpting and Quran Restoration. It is an unforgettable journey that leads you to the "Tahadoo Tahaboo", a corner which offers souvenir gifts.

Discover Al Balad

For those on the west coast, Ramadan Season will take place in Jeddah's historic Al Balad district, and visitors are encouraged to get involved in the cultural, artistic and historical experiences of the area. Organised activities are set to include collaborations with specialised entities, such as the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts: inviting visitors to explore cultural art galleries, museums, cafes, and interactive workshops.

Al Marqab

Can you spot the crescent moon? The Al Marqab (Moon Observation Tower) highlights the role of lunar observation in determining both the beginning and the end of Ramadan. This experience depends on the science of moon sighting and allows visitors the opportunity to track the moon’s phases using modern astronomical instruments.

The Souk

During Ramadan, you are inviting to take a tour through the alleys of the Souk and the Ramadan stores. Each shop and stall offering insight into the unique cultural experiences of the traditional shopping mart, and the incredible homegrown brands to be found in the Kingdom.
