Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Wins Gold
Located on the scenic Yumeshima waterfront, the Kingdom's Expo 2025 pavilion was designed by Foster + Partners, and offers visitors a journey through the textures, rhythms, and spirit of Saudi Arabian towns and cities.
From its winding streets, shaded courtyards, and layered facades evoke the organic forms of traditional Saudi villages, while seamlessly integrating cutting-edge sustainability features such as rooftop solar panels, low-carbon materials, and passive cooling strategies.
The pavilion’s design is more than just visually striking, it’s built to be deeply experiential. Visitors are invited to explore a series of themed galleries and interactive spaces that reflect the Kingdom’s transformation under Vision 2030. From the pavilion's Saudi Courtyard to immersive installations and cultural performances, the pavilion creates a dynamic environment that bridges heritage and innovation.
Led by the Saudi Architecture and Design Commission, with CEO Dr. Sumayah Al-Solaiman and Project Manager Fatima Al-Doukhi at the helm, the project also emphasises inclusivity, with accessible pathways, Braille signage, and sensory-friendly features throughout.
In a celebration of architectural excellence and cultural innovation, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka has been awarded Gold in the Cultural Architecture – Interactive and Experiential Spaces category at the 2025 New York International Design Awards. The ceremony, held in New York City on November 5, brought together leading architects and designers from around the world to honor projects that are shaping the future of design.
As millions continue to explore Expo 2025, the Kingdom’s pavilion stands as a powerful symbol of cultural pride, innovation, and global engagement.
