Inspired by the star system Nu Ursae Majoris, NUMAJ pays tribute to AlUla’s rich astronomical heritage and its role as a guiding point for ancient travellers.
"Following our initial announcement in 2023, we are excited to share further insights into the Autograph Collection Hotel project, revealing the design concept and sustainability aspects," said Mr. Fabien Toscano, CEO of UDC. "The concept reflects our commitment to creating a destination that is both luxurious and authentic, celebrating AlUla's unique heritage and natural beauty. We believe this design will offer guests an unparalleled experience that is deeply connected to the spirit of AlUla."
Covering 22,635 square meters, the NUMAJ Autograph Collection AlUla hotel will be located in central AlUla, adjacent to the AlUla Museum and across from the Farmer’s Market.
Designed by GioForma, the visionaries behind AlUla's iconic mirrored Maraya building, this new 250-room retreat will embrace AlUla’s natural beauty through carefully curated design using sustainable and locally sourced materials, combined with intricate mushrabia detailing, and site-specific architecture that will play with light and shadow.

The property will feature luxurious accommodations, five signature dining experiences, an indulgent spa complete with a fully equipped fitness centre and two pools, in addition to a world-class business hub, offering guests an immersive journey rooted in culture and sophistication. The collaborative design between luxury and nature will be evident in the hotel's lobby, where a curated rock collection will showcase and highlight AlUla’s diverse geological formations and offering guests a fascinating insight into the region’s rich natural heritage.
Beyond its aesthetics, NUMAJ champions sustainability, aiming for LEED Gold certification through innovative eco-friendly solutions, including grey water irrigation, locally sourced materials, UV-resistant glazing, and energy-conscious landscaping that aligns with AlUla’s Dark Sky policy.
As Saudi Arabia advances its Vision 2030 initiatives, NUMAJ stands as a testament to sustainable luxury, elevating AlUla’s global tourism appeal while honouring its heritage. More than a destination, NUMAJ is a journey—one shaped by history, guided by the stars, and designed to inspire.
