Qatar Airways adds new flights to Colombia and Venezuela for summer 2025

Qatar Airways has announced its expansion into South America with the addition of new flight routes to Colombia and Venezuela, from its capital city Doha.

This strategic move strengthens the airline's global reach and offers passengers enhanced connectivity across continents, and will make Qatar Airways the first Middle Eastern airline to service Venezuela. 

While specific launch dates are yet to be officially announced for these flight routes, it is expected that these routes will be live ahead of summer 2025.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said: “The launch of flights to Bogotá and Caracas marks a transformative moment for Qatar Airways and for travellers to South America. As the first airline to offer nonstop service from the Middle East to Colombia and the only Middle Eastern carrier flying to Venezuela, we are creating new opportunities to connect people, cultures, and commerce."

Covering approximately 8,253 miles, the Doha-Bogotá (Colombia) flight will rank as the third-longest in Qatar Airways' network, after Auckland and Los Angeles.

With two weekly flights planned for each route, on Wednesdays and Sundays, this planned expansion into the South American market marks a significant milestone for Qatar Airways, solidifying its position as a leading global carrier with an extensive network spanning continents.

The addition of these South American destinations aligns perfectly with Qatar Airways' ambitious growth strategy. By expanding its reach into this dynamic region, the airline aims to provide seamless travel experiences for passengers traveling between South America and destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Europe. This increased connectivity will not only benefit travellers but also stimulate trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between these regions.

Passengers on these flight routes can expect to experience Qatar Airways' renowned world-class service aboard Boeing 777-200LR. As always these flights including its signature hospitality, luxurious cabins, and innovative in-flight entertainment options: these routes will have 42 Business Class seats, in addition to 234 Economy Class seats.

The airline's commitment to providing a superior travel experience is further solidified by its recent accolades, including being named "World's Best Airline" for an eighth time by Skytrax.
