Lay back, relax and enjoy the mellow vibes at the best spas and spa hotels in Qatar. Offerings in this Gulf Nation include everything from dedicated wellness retreats (hello, hydrotherapy and acupuncture) to luxury poolside getaways. The spa scene here is big on high-end treatments, so you can expect to find 24-karat-gold facials, hammam experiences and a laundry list of different massages styles. These are some of our favourite spas in Qatar.
Al Messila, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Doha
This palatial five-star hotel is almost overwhelming in size, with sprawling buildings and jungle-like grounds. The spa is equally breathtaking, with a huge indoor pool that reflects the intricately carved ceiling, and cute little daybeds dotted around it. Book into the ladies wellness retreat and enjoy treatments from a hammam experience to aromatherapy, deep tissue massages, ‘collagen shock’ facial, and micro-puncture treatment. If you’re not staying at the hotel, the spa offers day passes and individual memberships.
Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara
Take a catamaran to this luxury private island, where you can sleep in an over-water villa or a sea-view from with a terrace perfect for enjoying breakfast from. The spa here blends with its surroundings beautifully, with treatment beds overlooking the crystal blue waters, a central spa pool with a glass roof for sky views, and beautiful Arabic mosaic tiling and arches throughout. Book in for a hammam experience, the ‘sleep package’ designed to aid your rest, or plump for the Banana Island experience package, which includes head-to-toe exfoliation and massage.
Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva‑Som
Two resorts under one roof – Zulal discovery (allowing families to reconnect to themselves and each other) and Zulal Serenity (wholly dedicated to adults looking for a tranquil wellness experience). The Serenity resort is really something special. The decor is simple and elegant, with beautiful pools and a desert backdrop, and the whole environment is designed to be as relaxing as possible. Experiences include everything from consultations with specialist fitness experts, acupuncturists and Ayurveda practitioners, to body wraps, colonic hydrotherapy, and hydra-memory express facial.
Modelled after a traditional sheik’s palace, Sharq Village gives the feeling of being tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The grounds are (naturally) luxurious and well-maintained, with manicured lawns, a central pool dotted with palm trees, and a beautiful indoor pool complete with faux waterfall (we kid you not). The spa itself gives traditional vibes (in the most luxurious sense, of course). Treatments include those for the mind, body and skin, with options from a crystal massage designed to clear the mind to a detoxifying poultice facial.
The Chedi Katara Hotel and Resort
Relax in palatial surroundings at The Chedi Katara, with huge day bed cabanas by the outdoor pool, cosy yet sophisticated spa lounge, and calming treatment rooms. Here, you’ll stroll through marbled corridors with Arabic arches and carved wooden details to the spa, where you can enjoy a huge variety of treatments from a 24-karat gold facial to a Balinese massage. We love the spa packages that boast five hours of pampering and include a clay wrap, foot ritual, cupping and reflexology. The hotel itself is equally magnificent, with chic beach-view rooms and villas and casual and luxury dining options.
InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa
This fun beach resort has a modern spa with a funky aesthetic. Clustered bulb chandeliers hang from the ceiling, display cases are backlit with colourful lighting, and the indoor pool is all metal lanterns and intricately carved walls. The spa features a sauna, jacuzzi, juice bar, and wave bed (that’s a treatment bed with water jets inside it for maximum relaxation), while treatments range from body scrubs and massages to skin-detoxifying and oxygen infusion facials. You can also book in for couples treatments here.
