Delta's growing global expansion will see the launch of the first-ever nonstop service between the United States and Saudi Arabia.
This new non-stop route is set to launch in October 2026, just on time for the launch of Riyadh Season 2026. Currently, the two cities are connected via several flights, meaning this move positions Delta as the sole US carrier offering direct flights to the Saudi capital.
Operational Details and Passenger Experience
The Atlanta-Riyadh service is scheduled to operate three times per week from October 2026.
The route will optimise Delta's flagship wide-body aircraft, the Airbus A350-900. This aircraft is renowned for its fuel efficiency and long-haul comfort, essential for a route that spans over 7,000 miles, placing it among the longest flights in Delta's extensive network.
With the flight time estimated to be over 15 hours, passengers on this ultra-long-haul journey will have access to a four-tiered cabin experience, ensuring premium comfort across all classes.
These offerings include the flagship Delta One cabin, featuring lie-flat seats and chef-curated meals and Missoni-branded amenity kits; Delta Premium Select, the enhanced premium economy product with wider seating and increased recline; Delta Comfort+, offering extra legroom; and the Main Cabin with ample economy seating. All travellers will benefit from Delta Studio entertainment and complimentary Wi-Fi for Delta SkyMiles members through Delta Sync.

Strategic Importance and Future Connections
According to the statement released by Delta about this new route and other international routes for 2026, this non-stop route route was chosen in order to foster "...strengthening the growing flow of commerce and investment between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia and supporting long-term economic collaboration across the region." Aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to diversify its economy and boost inbound tourism. By establishing a direct link, Delta aims to facilitate the flow of business, investment, and leisure travel, bypassing the need for connecting flights through traditional European or Gulf hubs.
For Saudi travellers, the Atlanta hub provides seamless one-stop access to over 150 cities across Delta’s network in the United States. Furthermore, the route leverages Delta’s upcoming strategic partnership with Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's new national carrier, slated to take to the skies in early 2025 for passenger travel. This collaboration is expected to include codesharing, enabling Delta passengers to connect efficiently to destinations throughout the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia as Riyadh Air expands its operations.
“We welcome Delta to Riyadh and look forward to the opportunities this service will create for travellers worldwide," said His Excellency Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Minister of Tourism for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. "Delta’s new nonstop flights between Atlanta and Riyadh mark a significant milestone in strengthening global connectivity between our nations and will open new doors for tourism and cultural exchange while driving business and innovation.”
The move into Riyadh places Delta in direct competition with established Gulf carriers, which have long dominated the U.S.-Middle East traffic through their hubs in Dubai and Doha. The direct, nonstop nature of the Atlanta-Riyadh service is designed to offer a more convenient and time-saving alternative for travellers on both business and leisure itineraries. The service is seen not just as an expansion of Delta's map, but as a long-term investment into a market poised for explosive growth.
