Ultra-luxury hotel brand Aman – known for its want-for-nothing service and spectacular locations – is to launch its first resort in the Maldives, set on one of the island state's most secluded and tranquil atolls.
When it opens, Aman Maldives will be the brand's 35th property, joining coveted resorts in locations like Phuket, Bali and the Utah desert.
What We Can Expect
The exclusive Maldivian hotel will feature 52 villa-style rooms in addition to 16 branded residences – ranging from five to 10 bedrooms – with their own white sand private beaches, 25-metre pools and personal landing jetties.
The design, by longtime Aman collaborator Kerry Hill Architects, embraces the "simplicity and beauty" of the surrounding Vaavu Atoll, taking inspiration from the destination's famous beaches and crystal-clear waters.
The hotel's rooms – each with its own private pool – will be set in standalone pavilions ranging from one to three bedrooms in size, spread between the main resort island and quieter extensions.
Guests will have access to a variety of restaurants, a beach club and several private dining locations across the island, while the spa – on its own island – will bring "new experiences" in health and rejuvenation. The property will also feature a dive centre and water sport activities among what Aman says are "some of the country’s most pristine reefs".

The luxury, international hotel brand recently announced its first Middle East location on Dubai's Jumeirah Beach, plus an outpost of its wellness-focused offshoot Janu, with five hotels slated for launch in Saudi Arabia.
