Saudi Arabia’s newest flag carrier continues to accelerate its global expansion.
This week, Riyadh Air has officially opened reservations for a three-weekly service between Jakarta and Riyadh starting November 16, 2026.
The new, direct capital-to-capital connection strengthens bilateral trade, opens alternative pathways for Indonesian spiritual travel, and signals the airline’s broader ambition across Southeast Asia. Continuing its rapid expansion across Southeast Asia, the airline will operate three weekly nonstop flights connecting Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) directly with King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh.

Jakarta has become the carrier’s 16th destination since launching commercial passenger flights in June 2026, closely following the rollout of its Manila service in September. The schedule provides optimal timings for both leisure and corporate travellers, departing Riyadh on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and returning to Jakarta on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Passengers across all classes will experience Riyadh Air’s curated “five-sense” wellness journey, designed to minimise jetlag through ambient lighting, signature cabin aromatherapy, and regionally inspired dining. Amenities feature bespoke collections from Saudi wellness brand Kayanee, alongside dedicated Disney activity kits for younger flyers. Members of the airline’s Sfeer loyalty program will also enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and non-expiring reward points.

The launch of this new connection, addresses strong economic and cultural ties between the two G20 nations: bilateral trade between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia reached US$6.6 billion in 2025, buoyed by expanding commercial exchanges in automotive, energy, and manufacturing sectors. And, in addition to business travel, the new direct flight route opens an alternative corridor for spiritual travel from Indonesia, home to the world’s largest Muslim population.
While the traditional Jakarta-Jeddah trunk route remains heavily served by carriers like Saudia and Garuda Indonesia, Riyadh Air’s service introduces a capital-first itinerary with seamless domestic connections onwards to Jeddah, Makkah, and Madinah for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
The addition of Jakarta forms part of an aggressive fleet and network expansion, having already established routes to European hubs, including London, Manchester, Madrid, and Milan, in addition to key Asian links such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Manila. Riyadh Air is laying the groundwork for further expansion.
