The National Museum of Qatar is a cultural highlight that’s as visually stunning as it is educational. Designed by award-winning architect Jean Nouvel, the building’s desert rose-inspired façade has made it one of the country’s most recognisable landmarks. Inside, immersive galleries trace Qatar’s history from its Bedouin roots and maritime traditions to today. 2. Museum of Islamic Art

No visit to Doha is complete without a visit to the staggeringly beautiful Museum of Islamic Art (MIA). Designed by the legendary IM Pei, the building itself is an architectural wonder, its bright white cubes rising dramatically from its own purpose-built island on the Corniche. Inside, the museum houses one of the world’s most impressive collections of Islamic art, spanning 1,400 years of artistic heritage.

The galleries feature intricate calligraphy, textiles and ceramics as well as precious jewelled artefacts, all presented with flair.
