Red Sea International Airport is preparing for a significant influx of travellers this June, announcing a major expansion of flight operations to accommodate the anticipated surge in demand for the Eid Al Adha vacation.

Bolstering connectivity to Saudi Arabia’s premier luxury destinations, Red Sea Global has confirmed that 32 extra flights will be added to the regular travel schedule. This expansion brings the total available capacity to approximately 15,000 seats, ensuring that domestic and international visitors can access the region’s high-end resorts with greater ease during the festive break. There will be 80 flights between May 21 - 31, 2026.

The increased frequency reflects the growing appeal of the Red Sea’s tourism offerings and a selection of new openings, particularly as the destination moves into its first full year of operations with a multi-resort portfolio. This seasonal ramp-up in operations at Red Sea International Airport is designed to offer a seamless transition for guests heading to flagship properties such as Six Senses Southern Dunes, St. Regis Red Sea Resort and the newly opened SLS The Red Sea. By nearly doubling the flight frequency for the Eid period, the airport is positioning itself as a vital gateway for luxury tourism in the Kingdom, and for the Middle Eastern traveller.

This operational milestone follows a series of successful launches for the airport, which began receiving domestic flights in late 2023 and recently expanded to include international routes from Dubai. The proactive increase in seating capacity underscores the region's commitment to delivering a frictionless travel experience that matches the world-class hospitality awaiting guests upon arrival.

This expansion arrives at a pivotal moment for the Red Sea as Saudi Arabia continues to advance its ambitious tourism targets, as part of Vision 2030. By scaling both infrastructure and connectivity so effectively in response to holiday demand, the Red Sea demonstrates a level of operational agility that underscores its growing maturity and its status as a cornerstone of the Kingdom's tourism future.

For the discerning traveller, the added flight frequency offers more than just convenience. It provides a rare opportunity to experience the Kingdom’s "hidden" archipelago during a period of celebration, blending the traditional significance of Eid with the contemporary luxury and environmental stewardship that defines the Red Sea project.
